This month's ZMac Utility, Smooth Move, provides a novel way to manage your files. Attaching a pop-up menu of common folder destinations to the Finder's Special menu, Smooth Move lets you select files and then move them instantly to your favorite locations.

By holding down the Option key while choosing from Smooth Move’s menu, you can also place copies of the selected files at the chosen destination.
Smooth Move also makes it easier to move aliases to special locations. After using the Finder's Make Alias command, you can use Smooth Move to move those aliases to the desired folder.
Installation
After dearchiving the packaged containing this ReadMe file, drag the file named Smooth Move onto your System Folder. Smooth Move must be placed in the Control Panels folder to work correctly. Smooth Move will not become active until after you reboot your Macintosh.
Configuring Smooth Move
Smooth Move is completely configurable. By opening the Smooth Move control panel, you can select up to ten destination folders for moving your files.

By clicking in the popup menu you may specify the destination folder for each menu item. In the figure above, Smooth Move is configured to move items to the Applications folder, Documents folder, or the Trash.
Special Thanks To
We would like to thank Scott Love for the Smooth Move icon, and Mark Simmons and Shef Syed for coordinating this project.
